E-Safety

The internet is opening new opportunities for everyone, promoting creativity and effective learning. To use technology effectively requires an awareness of the benefits and risks, and an understanding of their effective use in the classroom. This section aims to highlight the safety issues and provide advice for schools on how to use technology safely.

As part of their wider duty of care schools are required to ensure that children are able to use the internet and related communications technologies safely and appropriately. Technology such as firewalls and filtering and monitoring software are an important aspect of safeguarding the school's computer networks. The school works closely with the Local Authority and Internet Service Providers to ensure that our provision is safe.

E-safety must be a whole school responsibility; a framework of effective policies and procedures is the backbone to effective practice. The school's e-Safety policy is available for downdload below.
